PAIN DURING MENSTRUAL PERIODS IS NOT YOUR DESTINY
Many women suffer from menstrual cramps. There is strong inclination to lie in bed in spite of urgent work at home or office. Some find the discomfort of nausea, others face dizziness. Mood swings and uneasiness is also common.
The cause
During the course of periods the cramps are caused due to the shedding of the inner lining of the uterine wall. Many hormones play their role in this cyclic phenomenon, but the main hormone is known as ‘prostaglandins’. The same hormone is again prominent as and when delivery happens after pregnancy. Its function is to push the lining of the uterus out. When due to hormonal action, the uterus is devoid of blood, the muscle spasms occur. When spasms are more the condition is called Dysmenorrhea.
Dr Arhat says” Most commonly ignored cause of dysmenorrhoea is anaemia. Most girls have low iron reservoirs in spite of having average hemoglobin. All girls must be tested for serum iron/ serum ferret in to rule out iron deficiency anaemia causing dysmenorrhoea”
This is one of the commonest disorder common in women of reproductive age. It is a by product of growing civilization in a manner where stress is induced by all possible manners to achieve results at all costs. It may be studies, career or marketing. Dr Arhat says “8 out of 10 women who come to my clinic every day are suffering from PCOD. It is like an epidemic. Majority of these women have seen other specialists for disorders like acne, hair fall, dandruff, facial hair, mood swings and have never been guided about PCOD being the root cause of these symptoms. It is unfortunate that in this age of medical specialization we are forgetting that nature has made female organs very sophisticatedly connected to each other. Any disturbance in the harmony of these organs results in symptoms all over a female body.”
Different symptoms
Cause of PCOD
So far the exact cause of PCOD is not known. It is most likely due to multiple genetic mutations. PCOD/PCOS can be passed on from one generation to the next. A number of ongoing studies suggest that a family history of diabetes is a strong factor in leading to PCOS. Apart from that, family history and certain anti seizure medication may make one more susceptible to suffer from the syndrome.
Dr Arhat says “It is an unfortunate fact that most vegetables and fruits available in market are pre injected with hormones to increase productivity. Same is the case with milk and milk products; cows are pre-injected with hormones so that milk bearing increases. Extremely sensitive female hormones respond to these hormones when young girls consume these food articles. There is a strong link between the rise in PCOD cases and use of hormones in food items”
The diagnosis of PCOS
The diagnosis of PCOS is based on symptoms, family history, followed by clinical tests like abdominal ultrasound to check for any cysts that might be visible on the ovaries. The doctor will also advise to have a blood test to check the hormonal levels and most importantly will diagnose the condition on what is known as the ‘Rotterdam criteria’, where one of the following 3 criteria are to be met, in order to be diagnosed with PCOS:
PCOS and some similar conditions
There are other medical conditions that often resemble PCOS, like hypothyroidism (low levels of thyroid hormone), CAH (congenital adrenal hyperplasia), hyperprolactenemia (presence of abnormally high levels of pro lactin in the blood), pituitary adenoma (non cancerous tumor on the pituitary gland), androgen secreting tumors, Cushing’s Syndrome etc. A doctor has to carefully rule out other conditions by her skill and correlating symptoms and test reports.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the hypoglycemic effect of Somporn Kantaradusdi Triamchaisri technique 1 (SKT1) of sitting breathing meditation exercise on type 2 diabetic patients.
MATERIAL AND METHOD:
This quasi experiment study was performed on type 2 diabetic patients at Wat Khae Nok primary health center from April to May 2007 for a two-week period every Tuesday of the week (3 visits). At the first visit, the patients were educated about diabetes self care after breakfast. At the second and third visit, the participants were trained to practice SKT1 as
intervention after breakfast. Post prandial plasma glucose and blood pressure before and after the intervention were recorded. Descriptive statistics and paired t-test were used to analyze the study data.
RESULTS:
Fifty patients participated in the present study, 11 were males and 39 females. They had a mean age of 63.1 years (range 42-80). The present study revealed that SKT1 significantly reduced levels of postprandial plasma glucose by 19.26 +/- 30.99 mg/dl, (p < 0.001) in the second visit, and 17.64 +/- 25.48 mg/dl, (p < 0.001) in third week visit. Furthermore, systolic blood pressure in the second visit was significantly decreased by 6.49 +/- 11.77 mmHg, (p < 0.001). Diastolic blood pressure in the third visit was also significantly decreased by 3.04 +/- 9.79 mmHg, (p < 0.05).
CONCLUSION:
The present study showed that SKT1 practice in type 2 diabetic patients had a post prandial hypoglycemic effect and a slight reduction to systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Dr Arhat says “Diabetes is manageable, controllable and reversible through proper Homeopathic medicines, right diet and meditation and yoga in as much as that you can dispense with meditation and maintain it through rest of your life with Diet and meditation. One may visit us and meet patients who have already reversed it or are in the process of reversal with significant improvement documented with them.
Applied relaxation is akin to Meditation Technique. We are not just recommending the approach of treatment to our patients but also provide practical sessions. Reflexology is regularly practiced at all our clinics as not just a method of relaxing the body but also providing relief to target organ. Trained experts personally provide these sessions to patients and brings about the kind of results as narrated in above study by applied relaxation method.
Dr Arhat says “Just as food, air, water is necessary for living, relaxing is an essential part of life. You can never make beautiful music without silence, a beat follows a pause and pause follows a beat similarly work must follow relaxation to make sure our body and mind keeps working harmoniously. Disease arises when this harmony is disturbed. Most people don’t relax even when they sleep, reflexology is a technique to practically instil harmony to the flow of vital force of the body and maintain its healthy dynamics. Dr. Hahneman the founder
of homoeopathy advocates the techniques of massage and mesmerism in combination with homoeopathic treatment for best results. We provide a platform at our clinic for such an approach, away from synthetic drugs, achieving a natural balance in body”

Many of such children who have asthma develop their first symptoms before 5 years of age. However, asthma in young children (infants to children 5 years old) can be hard to diagnose.gartenmöbel design

Wheezing & Asthma
Every wheezing child does not have asthma .Many young children who wheeze when they get colds or respiratory infections don’t go on to have asthma. A child may wheeze because he or she has small airways that become narrow during colds or respiratory infections. The airways grow as the child grows, so wheezing no longer occurs as the child gets older. The most certain way to diagnose asthma is with a lung function test, a medical history, and a physical exam. However, it’s hard to do lung function tests in children younger than 5 years. Thus, doctors have to rely on child’s medical history, signs and symptoms, and physical examination to make a diagnosis.
Dr Arhat says “It is unfortunate that some doctors use a trial of asthma medicines to see how well a child responds . Often such a prescription is given out of parental pressure on doctors . I firmly acknowledge that all asthmatic children can be cured , it just depends on how cooperative the parents are. The goal of asthma treatment is to control the disease and prevent asthma attacks by increasing patients immunity. During the course of strengthening the child
immune system , the child still keeps getting exposed to changing environment and allergic substances . Here improvement should be evaluated on the basis of decresing FREQUENCY and INTENSITY of attacks, which gradually decreses to nil, hence absence of attacks. Healing Temple has hundreds of cured cases of bronchial asthma where patients have got rid of this disease for a lifetime. Each time a less intense episode of asthma occurs during the course of treatment , it needs to be managed with immune strengthening homoeopathic medicine , here is where we need family s support and patience. It is sad that some parents
resort to dangerous and temporary short cuts like steroids or inhalers just for their own convenience and comfort. Parents should take an active role to control and prevent childs asthma by-
